‘Chopin on five pianos’ is an innovative vision of the interpretation of Chopin’s music, and the unusual and unexpected executive apparatus – five pianos – a grand proof of great skills and maturity of the artists. The project was initiated by Sławomir Jaskułke. Next to him, in the project also take part Katarzyna Borek – as a classical virtuoso as well as three outstanding Polish jazz pianists: Joanna Duda, Piotr Wyleżoł and Paweł Kaczmarczyk.
A project is a form of musical collage – because that’s what it is, creates an interactive form of a dialogue between classical world, and its jazz interpretations. 5 Pianists correspond with Chopin’s music in a very courageous and innovative way. The musical concept of the whole is based on strong foundations of five individuals. The official premiere of the project took place September 12, 2010, on the World Exposition in Shanghai.
